Home Counties Girls Football League 24 June 2008 On Monday, June 23rd the member clubs of the HCGFL voted to accept our club as members of their league. As a result we now have League Registration Forms to distribute and these will need to be returned to either Julie or Simon by Friday, July 11th to be taken to the League Registration Evening that is being held in Stevenage on July 14th. On the evening, there were entries from 14 other clubs into next season's U14 league, but quite a number of clubs were not represented meaning their intentions are not yet known, so there is likely to be a number of additional teams yet to be added. Confirmed on the night were: Barnet Azurri, Buckden, Denham, Enfield Town, Garston, Harvesters, Hemel Hempstead, Hitchin Town, Lea Valley, Luton Town, St Albans City, Tottenham Hotspur, AFC Stevenage, & Ruislip Manor. U14's Win Award 19 June 2008 At the Royston Crow League AGM on June 18th, Barmond United U14's were presented with the U14 Sporting Award for season 2007/8. This is based on scores out of 10 given by opposition managers throughout the season. Our score of 9.59 was not only the highest within the U14's, but was the 5th highest in the entire league, only 4 U12 teams gaining higher marks. Congratulations to all of our boys on their behaviour for earning this award. Players Wanted 07 June 2008 As the Club seeks to expand, we are looking for additional players to join from the following current school years: Boys Years 3 & 4 Boys Years 6 & 7 Girls Year 8 Anyone interested should contact Simon Patterson on 07966 459952 or barmondutd@yahoo.co.uk Registrations Now Due 07 June 2008 Please note that registration forms for next season are now due. Both the Club and RCYFL forms need to be returned ASAP, together with 2 passport sized photos and payment of £42.50 as the first 50% of the subscription. Presentation Night 2008 Report 07 June 2008 A superb turnout of 27 players and their families attended the Club's inaugural Presentation Night at Stevenage Cricket Club on Friday, June 6th. All players were praised for their attitude and efforts throughout the season, while the following received the individual awards: Parents Player: Sam S (U9), Charlie H (U14) Players Player: Ronan (U9), Ethan (U14) Managers Player: James R (U9), Billie(U14) Most Improved: Rhys (U9), Malcolm (U14) Clubman: Charlie (U9), Callum (U14) Additionally, medals were presented to Charlie P, Callum and Jack for not missing a single match throughout the season, while Kris K was the inaugural winner of the Outstanding Adult Contribution To BUFC. 2008/9 Registration Forms Available 22 May 2008 New registration forms are now available to download from the Forms page of this website. Please note that along with the Royston Crow form you will need to submit 2 passport sized photographs. There are 2 different club registration forms for next season, the Renewal is for players who were registered to play during 2007/8 and the New Member for anyone who wasn't. Grass Roots Football Live 20 May 2008 Grass Roots Football Live is a football show unlike any other. It combines an opportunity to visit stands from over 150 football related suppliers with a chance to rub shoulders with the professionals such as FA Cup winning Harry Redknapp and former England manager Graham Taylor. There will be competitions, training sessions and a skills zone where you can learn new tricks, as well as a goalkeeping zone. The event is at the NEC, Birmingham from Friday, May 30th to Sunday, June 1st. Further information is available on their website www.grassrootsfootball.co.uk.
U14 v Buntingford 09 May 2008 Due to an error in the fixture information, this game has now been put back a week to Sunday, May 18th rather than this Sunday. It will be a 10.30am kick-off at the Sainsbury's depot, London Road, Buntingford. U14 Training 28 April 2008 Training is now going to revert to Tuesday evenings as last summer. It will be at Hampson Park from 6.30 to 7.30pm, starting on Tusday, April 29th. |
